"Southern Hospitality"

There's a reason its called "Southern Hospitality!"  Its not just two words put together its a way of life here in Lafayette. It's called "Southern Hospitality" because that's what it's about. It's not just about living in the south and whether you like it or not. There are many things that are pretty great about the south...history, scenery, farmer's markets, farms, woods, etc. I'm not trying to turn folks for or against the south and I wanted to be able to step back and observe what others think. The post is specifically about how folks personally view the idea/concept of southern hospitality...what it means to them and how it makes them feel.

Lafayette is city in a category of its own. It is a city of combining cultures and has a history that is as deep as an oak tree’s roots. When visiting Lafayette your senses will be overwhelmed with good food, great music and extraordinary experiences. Lafayette is a city where you can could go tailgate at a Ragin Cajun football game and then drive two miles to Jefferson Street in Downtown Lafayette for the Art Walk. It is a city where there are no strangers, everyone is your neighbor.  Lafayette is a city that not only defines “southern hospitality” , but lives it.
